Sat 3rd October: First XV AWAY v Tynedale. Meet, Selection, Directions etc.

This week we're off North to take on Tynedale RFC - another first ever encounter.

Located in the village of Corbridge, they've sent us some helpful advice / suggestions, if thinking of staying over for a few days.  Check it out, here. 

As far as the rugby side of things goes, they're currently 7th to our 9th in the League; having won 2 games to our 1.  Interestingly, they've picked up 2 try bonus points, to our 3 and no losing bonuses - we've got one.  Thus far they've beaten Huddersfield and Sheffield Tigers.  They lost to our opponents of last Saturday, Darlington, 55 - 12.

Last season they finished second behind Sheffield and qualified for the promotion play-offs, losing to Oundle 20 - 29.  Ultimately, Moseley beat Oundle and remained in National 1.  In 24/25, they finished 5th in the League.

After last week's second half performance and 5 tries scored in the game, the Heath squad is sure to be eager to put on a winning display.

And finally, on Friday 3rd October it is Hexham races and thanks to Mr Richard Painter's connections the racecard will feature the Heath RUFC A-Safe Handicap Hurdle. A delegation from the club will be in attendance but all are welcome to join us, Mr Brown is currently doing his research on the form guides etc.

1.    Take the M62(east)/M1(north) and A1(M)/A1 (north) towards Newcastle. At junction 75 on the A1 join the A69 going west to Corbridge. 

2.    At the roundabout as you approach Corbridge (junction with the A68), take the second exit and join the B6530. Follow the B6530 into Corbridge, turn left onto the B6321 and cross the River Tyne.

3.    At the next roundabout take the first exit onto the B6529 (Station Road). Where the B6529 becomes Tinkler’s Bank turn left onto The Stanners and immediately right back on to Station Road. The ground is on the left down Station Road.
