Heath u15s Turn on the Style as Beverley Battle Bravely

There are Sunday mornings… and then there are Heath U15s Yorkshire Cup Sunday mornings.
The rain politely stopped just in time, the pitch was firm, and the lads were buzzing like they’d had three Weetabix each.

Beverley arrived ready for a scrap, and the opening ten minutes were a proper arm‑wrestle. Heath’s forwards rucked like they’d been promised extra chips at tea, and scrum‑half Lennon Wood was firing out passes quicker than most parents could sip their coffee. After some bulldozing carries from Lewis Farrell, Charlie Anderson and Thomas Crowther, Heath parked themselves five metres out. Up stepped Harry Lowe — part human, part forklift — who stretched over to score.

Heath 7–0 Beverley (12 mins, Gordon conversion)

Heath’s defence then clicked into “thou shalt not pass” mode. Centres Louie Moss and Alfie Cartwright shut down everything in midfield, while wingers Will Carter and Oscar Szadbey dished out tackles that could be heard from the car park. Szadbey then produced a highlight‑reel moment, sprinting down the right after catching a cross‑field kick and only being stopped just inside the Beverley 22.

The lineout was purring nicely thanks to James Travis’ laser‑guided throws and Aman Mekala’s skyscraper‑level catching. Then came a moment of magic: the ball went wide, Ethan Murphy shimmied left, shimmied right, and left defenders wondering where he’d gone as he scorched 30 metres to the line.

Heath 12–0 Beverley (23 mins, unconverted)

Kai Knowles entered the fray and immediately carried like a man who’d been told the last sausage roll was his if he earned it. Beverley counter‑rucked well and kept the scrums competitive, but Heath held their lead into the break.

HT: Heath 12–0 Beverley

Ben Ingham came on and Heath wasted no time setting up camp in Beverley’s 22. Humphrey Hall and Anderson punched holes, and Lowe — clearly enjoying himself — barrelled over for his second.

Heath 17–0 Beverley (32 mins, unconverted)

Crowther continued to harass Beverley’s fly‑half like an overly enthusiastic personal trainer, forcing kicks that Murphy happily returned with interest. Moss was now in full “wrecking ball” mode, making 10–20 metres every time he touched the ball. After slick handling from the backs, Moss smashed over for a well‑deserved try.

Heath 24–0 Beverley (43 mins, Gordon conversion)

From the restart, Wood got the forwards rolling again — Crowther, Hall, Anderson, Ingham and Knowles all taking turns to dent the Beverley line. Despite Beverley’s scrum being a real weapon, Heath’s pressure kept forcing errors. Lowe then completed his hat‑trick, crashing over like a man who simply refused to be stopped.

Heath 29–0 Beverley (51 mins, unconverted)

Farrell returned for the final stretch, and to Beverley’s credit, they never stopped battling. Their scrum stayed strong, but Heath’s defence remained watertight to the end.

FT: Heath 29–0 Beverley

A superb team performance: disciplined, physical, organised, and full of confidence.
A proper statement win.

Players of the Match: Louie Moss & Harry Lowe — both absolutely outstanding.

Next week: Heath hit the road to Otley.
