Big win for Heath

Reporter: Woods
Dated: 21 December 2025

Heath welcomed Littleborough on a damp Sunday morning. HQ was packed out with all 3 age groups at home.

From the minute the lads started warming up it was clear that they were switched on and looking for a win.

With Sonny Gordon unavailable Ethan Murphy switched to 10 and Will Carter moved to fullback.

First Half
Heath kicked off and Littleborough made a handling error in there own 22, from a scrum number 8 Humphrey Hall picked the ball and went blindside to score. Converted by Murph from touchline.
Heath were dominating possession from now on.
5 mins later after some strong drives from the forwards Harry Lowe crashed over under the posts! Converted by Murph.
2 mins later Alfie Cartwright broke the defence to score down the right hand side. Again Murph was on point with another conversation.

Heath forwards were now working hard and punching big holes in Littleborough defence. Minutes later Littleborough had a goal line drop out, caught by Louie Moss who powered his way over the line ! Converted by Murph.
Only 2 minutes later some strong drives from captain Jasper Haigh and TC left the defence open for Louie to get his 2nd try.
Louie went off for a breather and Ben Ingham went into the pack, Hall moved to centre and TC moved to 8.

Heaths scrums we’re proving too much for the Littleborough forwards.
We won the next one against the head, Lennon Wood whipped the ball out to Murph who ran blindside 40 metres to score! Then converted his own try !

With a minute left of the 1st half Heath we’re  awarded a scrum in there half. TC picked the ball out of the scrum and powered over for a well deserved try.

HT 47-0

Second Half

Kai Knowles entered the pitch to replace Charlie Anderson and Louie returned for Alfie Cartwright.

The first 5 mins of the 2nd half Littleborough we’re beginning to look tired but kept going. Credit to them !
6 minutes in,after another great lineout and drive from TC the ball found its way to Harry Lowe at full pace that sent him over for his 2nd.
Converted by Louie Moss.
From the kick of Heath we’re awarded a scrum..Lennon set the ball moving to Murph then  out to Louie to get his 3rd try.
Try was converted by captain Jasper Haigh.

At this point the Littleborough coach asked referee Andy Gordon to end the game.
We came to an agreement to play another 5 minutes.
Charlie Anderson returned to the field for Aman .

Last play of the game Heath won a line out in Littleborough’s 22.
James Travis powered over for the last try of the game.

Try unfortunately was only just unconverted by Lewis Farrell.
Final whistle went and all of the Littleborough players wished us all a Merry Christmas.
A game played in great spirit and a win needed by Heath U15s.
