Heath/Cleck entertained a combined Otley/Baildon squad at fortress Heath for the 1st round of the Yorkshire Cup. Both teams hopeful of their first cup win. The home side started very strong with a try in the opening minutes of the game. Some fantastic work by Alex Murphy around the ruck area resulted in a brilliant try in the corner. Following this initial success the visiting team turned up the pressure and looked like scoring, however the home side drove them into touch and kicked the ball downfield resulting in a fantastic turnover by Ethan Carter and a brilliant team try. The home team again absorbed huge amounts of pressure from the kick off, unbelievable defence from Noah Ruane and Nicholas Trickett resulted in numerous errors by the visitors. Dominated scrummaging from Noah, Ethan and Nicholas resulted in a turnover and a fantastic try in the corner. The first half finished with a 4th try for the home team following an outragious carry by Harrison Samples, leaving defenders scattered behind him, while he made his way up the field.

The visiting team opened the second half with two very strong carries, their man of the match second rower running the length of the field only to be tackled last minute, causing him to spill the ball over the dead ball line. Outstanding defence from the home side kept the visiting team scoreless for most of the game, however after some outstanding team work they scored a brilliant team try in the corner. Following this the home team cranked up the pressure and scored four unanswered tries to finish off the game. This was the teams best performance so far and they are looking forward to the next round of the Yorkshire Cup.
