A solid performance and not a little flair brings a good win

Heath travelled the short distance to meet local rivals Old Risworthians and managed to produce one of the best team performances of the season - even with several players playing out of postion. Paddy and Dancy had to pair up in the centres and Dan Ingham found himself at prop again. As with last week's game against the Brods this week's match was played throughout in good spirit and it was good to see Eric Blackmore making an his 1st app of the season. With Mick Gleeson and Richard Cole pulling the strings, the Heath forwards managed to puch holes in the home defence, via good running from Stead, James and Lock. There was some good tackling from Kerr, Nicholson, John Ingham and Gaz Owen was his normal lively self around the ruck. Additionally, Matty Cook and Gaz Crawshaw ran well in the backs and all of this saw Heath lead 12 to 7 at half time. For the second half Captain Ingham introduced several fresh legs in Allison, Porter, Barnes and Hinchcliffe and then the half really became one way traffic. On top of this the Rishies picked up a few injurys which with Heath's pace and guile caused problems for the rest of the afternoon. In the end, Heath ran out comfortable winners 43 to 14, meaning they have now scored 100 points in 2 weeks. Men of the match were Steady in the forwards and Gaz Crawshaw in the backs. Gaz having found his feet and sidestep again.
