After a few weeks without a game the Hawks set their sights on Huddersfield Laund hill. The Hawks felt confident as the team was bolstered by a few with First XV experience.
Heath opened the scoring and enjoyed most of the success in the first half, playing some great rugby and scoring some impressive tries.
The half ended at 19-5.
The hosts came out much stronger for the second half and tested the Hawks defence with some strong carrying in the centre before finishing wide on each wing. There was another try for each team in the half and the score was brought to with 2. Huddersfield opted to kick a penalty to take a 1 point lead.
In the last few plays of the game the Hawks fumbled a maul opportunity on the opposition 5. The forwards corrected this mistake by winning the scrum to get the ball back and it made its way through to backs before reaching debutant Isaac Warrenders hands out wide on the wing. He was sprinting towards the line to secure the win but unfortunately was bundled into touch at the last second. A valiant effort.
Final score 27-26
