Heath went out at home to face a strong Wharfedale team.
After a shaky start and Heath being called out by the ref for talking, Wharfedale opened the scoring with a few tries in quick succession. Heath regrouped and strung some good attacking phases together and found themselves attacking the visitors try line. Clough ran a great line, but the ball was lifted to a different man and Heath's try was disallowed for crossing. This gave Heath some confidence in attack.
After sustaining some more pressure Heath found themselves back in attacking position with a penalty in the 22. A quick tap saw scrumhalf Max Rowntree pass the ball to Clough, whoh muscled his way over to open the scoring for the home side.
Following this the visitors once again showed a period of dominance with strong carries and slick backs moves which Heath struggled to repel. They finished the half with another try. Heath knew they needed to show more resilience in the second half.
Heath started well in the second half, showing improved defence and once again looking strong with ball in hand. Wharfedale, however, defended attacking lineouts well and turned the ball over in key positions, shutting Heath out and relieving pressure.
During a particularly dangerous attack from Wharfedale, Bruce made an interception and ran the ball 60m to score for Heath's second.
The game ended with Heath having the best run of possession they had all game. A number of tap penalties carried by the forwards made good ground, but were ultimately snuffed out. Heath faced a tough opponent on the day and have some work to do before facing a competent Sheffield side next week
