Redcar hit back after strong work from their forwards allowed their hooker to crash over for an unconverted try. Heath were playing some good rugby but were again victims of tackling too high and after successive warnings from the referee, Oliver Bailey took one for the team and was yellow carded. This did not stop the Heath momentum and after the forwards created a good platform, Junior Routledge darted over for an unconverted try making the halftime score 17-7 to Heath.
After a rousing half time teamtalk, Heath came flying out of the traps and after some great work from Will Mellor, Zane Horsfall and Jesse, Adam Foster went over for a try in the corner with Junior converting. This put Heath 24-7 up but they werent finished there. Alfie Souster was having a storming game and supported by Issac, Alex Brown, Jacob Waddington, Jacob Marshall and Lewis Boothroyd, good forward play set the platform for Oliver Bailey to crash over in the corner for a well deserved try. Conversion was missed by Junior.
Heath rang the changes and good work from the forwards lead by Josh Jackson and Vincent Pilcher, with support play from Jacob Marshall and Jacob Waddington led to what only can be desribed as the try of the season. From his own 22, Jesse Booothroyd set off on a maisy run, beating half dozen Redcar defenders in the process. He was just about to go over in the corner but was caught but the hard working Max Mellor was there to collect the ball and crash over for an unconverted try.
Final score Heath 34-7 Redcar.
One of the best performances of the season with every single one of the 20 man squad working their socks off to progress to the next round of the cup. Still plenty to work on though with too many penalties given away for high tackles and encroaching offside but the future is bright and lots to work on.
