HEATH U15s. A great start for the U15s in their first game of the season, at the Rishworthians. With several new players on board, they are going to be a good solid outfit this time around.
After a very nervy start, by both sides, with a few knock ons and silly penalties, Heath's pack began to get on top of their local rival. The first try was a great move, started down the blindside by Jake Holmes and finished off by our new fullback Dom Ellam in great style - also converted by him to go 7 - 0 up at half time.
In the break, Heath made several changes in order to give all the lads a run out. From the restart and after several phases of play in the Heath 22, new player Callum Brown got hold of loose ball, showed some great speed and balance to go the length of the field and score under the posts - for a great debut try. Con by Ellam and Heath leading 14 - 0.
Heath were now playing some great rugby, with good link up play between forwards & backs. Next on the score board was ever green winger Aarron Kelly - getting on the end of more good work from the skipper Jake Holmes to race under the posts to score a great team try. Ellam con for Heath to take a 21 - 0 lead to the final whistle.
In summary, this was a very solid display against a good Rishworthian side (that actually did the double over Heath last year).
