Heath travelled to south yorkshire looking to gain revenge for thier Yorkshire Cup final defeat. Another close contest was in store against 2 very talented sides.
In blizzard like conditions, Heath kicked off and Doncaster soon gained the upper hand, with their big forwards putting presure on the smaller Heath pack.
Heath tackled like trojans to keep the home side at bay and a few releiving kicks from Pollard & Hinchliffe took the presure off, albeit briefly.
The U16s then began to get the upper hand up front with Kilner & Foxton providing the platform for the Heath backs to get going. Both sides were trying to play rugby in the wet conditions but it was the home side to get on the scoreboard first. With a well worked try for the no 8 to crash over. 7 - 0 to Doncaster at the break.
Heath began the second half on the front foot, driving the doncaster forwards back. Their inside halves, Birkett & Hinchcliffe were now getting quality ball to allow the exciting back line to get going.
Next on the scoresheet was Heath's Sam Pollard - on the end of a great move, to crash over out wide. Con hinchcliffe, 7 a piece.
Game on now, with both sets of forwards slugging it out for the next ten minutes, before Heath got penalised for holding on. Pen doncaster, 10 - 7 to the home side.
Heath were soon back on level terms after a superb 30 meter drop goal from Pollard. All square at 10 - 10.
The game became a bit scrappy for the last quarter with both sides getting frustrated and provoking a stern warning from the official. Both sides had several chances to win this one, but it was Doncaster's big forwards who finished the stronger to take the honours.
