Heath 2nds. The Seconds made the short trip to play against an Old Crossleyans 2nd xv in a Merit Table game, hoping to try and make it 3 wins in a row. However, this was not to be.
Heath were hit within 5 minutes when skipper, Neil SMURTHWAITE, had to leave the field suffering with chest pains. He was replaced by newcomer, Ian CRAIGON, who was the only sub' for this game.
In the first half, Old Crocs scored 3 tries, 2 of which were converted, with Heath scoring a solitary penalty from the boot of Oliver COOK, making the half time score 19-3.
The second half was dominated by the Crossleyans boys who ran in a further 6 tries and converted 4 of them. This gave a final score of 57-3.
This was a comprehensive defeat for the Heath boys but, it has to be said, they were beaten by a very strong Crossleyans xv who remain unbeaten for this season. Let’s put this game behind us now and start again next Saturday when Old Brodleians 2nd xv are the visitors to West Vale.
Apologies for a poor match report this week (Some may say it is no different from other weeks!!!) but due to circumstances, a full report was unable to be written. Normal proceedings will resume next week.
