Work progresses on the construction of the cycle/walkway along the Black Brook boundary, and has now reached a significant point. This week sees the installation of the bridge which will take the cycle/walkway across the River Calder to join with the canal towpath. The bridge sections are being delivered to site on Tuesday and will be temporarily placed on the car park overnight (car parking will still be available for those attending training on Tuesday evening). On Wednesday an 800 ton crane arrives to lift the bridge sections into place, and the crane leaves the site at the end of the day. Members are asked not to use the car park during the day on either Tuesday or Wednesday as it needs to be kept clear to provide for safe operation by the contractors.
