Brods out pace and take the points
Old Brodlieans provided the opposition to hosts Heath in a Halifax derby game. Recent form sheet would have put the visitors down as favorites and proving otherwise was always going to be an uphill struggle for the West Vale side. Initially, both sides proved an equal match with Heath defending well and drove the ball in well with some well drilled plays of the ball, notably Callum Harriott-Brown, Tom Berridge and Jake Holmes with the former taking the first points of the match with Dom Ellam adding the conversion. Heath held the lead for the next 15 minutes as play yo-yoed into both halves before Brods leveled the score. One more unconverted try gave them a 7-12 lead going into half-time.
Retaking the pitch for the second half Brods took their hosts by surprise as they stepped up the pace, proving why they’re considered one of the region’s premium teams. Despite watching Brods points tally steadily raising Heath never dropped their heads, defending as best they could with good tackling from Man of the Match Ben Choy, Jack Fox, Max Netherwood, Ryley Cowgill, Arron Kelly, Will Bennett and Sam Sharpe. Brods still stole the show though, taking the final score to 7-52.
