This Year's PapaJohns Competition ....... UPDATED.....

Background Info'

The draw for the Papa John's Men's Community Cup Competition(s) has now been made. Clubs were placed in the various Tiers, having regard to their League positions - following the games played on 7th December. At that time, Heath were in fifth place in Regional One North East, and, as a result, we have been placed in the Regional One Plate competition - along with other Clubs occupying positions five to eight at Regional One level on 7th December.

Previously, we have played in the Regional One Champions Cup - for teams occupying positions one to four at Regional One level. 

Games in the Regional One Plate are due to be played as follows:

Sat 12th April:  Round of 16  (AWAY Win:  Stockport 26 v Heath 54)

Sat 19th April:  (Easter weekend): No games are scheduled

Sat 26th April:  Quarter final 1st leg (home or away subject to the draw after the Round of 16) -

Sat 3rd May:  Quarter final 2nd leg (reverse of above) -  Heath Walkover as Newport withdrawn from Competition.

Sat 10th May:  Semi- final -   Heath Walkover as Cleckheaton withdrawn from Competition.

Sat/Sun 17th/18th May:  Final - (venue to be advised but not the Alliance Stadium, Twickenham)

Updated Info' after First Round

Please note that some fixtures have been flipped due to away wins in the 1st round. A reminder that teams who have progressed via walkover or bye are counted as a home team. 

Teams can mutually agree to move a fixture forward if they wish.

Two-Legged Quarter Finals

A reminder that the below competitions will have two legged Quarter Finals – with the first named team hosting the 1st leg.:

Regional 1 Championship

Regional 1 Plate

Regional 1 Shield

Regional 2 Championship

Regional 2 South Shield

Counties 2 North Shield

Counties 3 North Shield

NOTE: If there is a draw on aggregate after the 2nd fixture, then the process in the Regulations, specifically G2 will then come into effect to decide a winner.

Current Summary

For the quarter final stage,  we face Newport (Salop) across two legs: on Sat 26th April and Sat 3rd May. One of those games will be at home and one away.  The first encounter will be HOME with the return leg at AWAY.  Fixtures on RFU website, here.

Newport (Salop) had a HWO v Long Eaton in the first round.

If we progress v Newport, we would be heading for a semi-final against either Percy Park or Cleckheaton which would be played at HOME on 10th May, (as we understand the rules).

After beating Stockport AWAY (report here) and HWOs v Newport & Cleckheaton, Heath are now finalists.
